About me

Hello, I’m Paul, welcome to flapclocks.co.uk.
I’ve been interested in modernist design for several years and so I was naturally drawn to the Habitat Flap Clock. When exploring buying one, I realised that there seemed to be as many faulty ones available as working ones, as an engineer with a natural curiosity for how things work, I thought I’d pick up a faulty one and see if I could repair it. Initially I was a little puzzled, so I also bought working one as reference, eventually gaining enough knowledge to perform a successful repair. So I bought another, however, this one had a different fault which required further learning and understanding, and so this continued to this day, where, from what I can tell, I am the worlds only dedicated resource for Habitat Flap Clocks, with frequent enquiries from across Europe and as far afield as Australia and New Zealand.

Where am I based?

My workstation is at my home in Stockport, UK.
Here we have a selection of clocks under test and a couple awaiting repair.
